After taking an 18-month mid-career hiatus to explore and study the most advanced healthcare models around the world, Dr. Baker delved into how technology can enhance the healthcare experience and how Eastern medicine and holistic philosophies can prevent and improve chronic conditions affecting so many today. About Dr. Zeyad Baker

Education

After graduating from Georgetown University and Ross University School of Medicine, Dr. Zeyad Baker returned back to his roots in New Jersey where he then completed his pediatric residency at Rutgers University. During his medical training he received The Golden Apple Award in two consecutive years awarded to the top resident in the program for excellence in teaching. Then in 2007 he was awarded with Arnold P. Gold Foundation Humanism in Medicine Award which is a national award disposed upon among the best residents across the country. read more

Leadership

In an effort to improve the plight of his home state, after being asked and appointed by the governor of New Jersey in 2010, Dr. Zeyad Baker served on the highest medical governing board in the state, the New Jersey Medical Board of Examiners. He was not only the youngest doctor to be nominated and receive this honor in the great state of New Jersey but also the only pediatrician on the board. On a more local level, Dr. Baker has served on the Medical Executive Committee of the Hackensack University Medical Center as well as the bioethics committee. He most recently served as CEO for Optum Tr-istate where he managed over 1,000 doctors in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut, the largest non-hospital healthcare organization in the region. read more

Interests

Beyond spending time with his 3 dogs, 2 kids, and his lovely wife, Dr. Zeyad Baker always looks forward to the weekly basketball games (sometimes a little too competitive) that includes Members of the Baker Health Team and Family.

Philosophy

Even though Dr. Zeyad Baker practices and manages Baker Health 7 days a week, he'll be the first to say he has never worked a day. His philosophy is if you do what you love, you never have to work.
